Bryan Pflaum

Corentus Chief of Practitioner Development, Support, & Care

Bryan has a passion for delivering transformational learning experiences that empower individuals, organizations, and entire communities to thrive.

Bryan is a learning and development leader who brings a wealth of energy and creativity to Corentus, along with 20 years of award-winning experience.

At Cleveland Clinic, Bryan developed a world-class education department to advance the healthcare system’s community benefit strategy. He led the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of a portfolio of programs, providing measurable enrichment to 15,000+ students, community members, and healthcare professionals a year while growing the organization’s brand, future workforce, and revenue.

His work as a program designer has been honored by the United States Distance Learning Association, the Ohio Department of Education, and the Science Education Council of Ohio, among others; and his work as a content developer has received international acclaim in the MarCom, Webby, Telly, Videographer, Communicator, Hermes Creative, and Print Excellence Awards. A respected thought leader, Bryan has been a featured speaker at numerous educational forums, including the National Conference on Health Communication, Marketing, and Media, the Ohio Art Education Association Annual Conference, and the School Superintendents Association Digital Consortium.

Before Cleveland Clinic, Bryan designed and executed a successful national marketing campaign for Ohio-based child service agency Bellefaire JCB, increasing out-of-state referrals for the organization’s residential treatment programs by more than 400% in a single year. Before that, as a staff writer and editor, he produced top-selling digital and paper greetings and a wide range of entertainment products for American Greetings Corporation. And throughout his professional life, as a freelance writer and editor, marketing consultant, and education contractor, he has helped many other organizations achieve and exceed their strategic objectives.

Bryan earned a BA in International Studies from The University of Southern Maine and an MFA in Writing from Vermont College. He and his wife and their three children live in Northeast Ohio (at least when the oldest is home from school), where they take advantage of the great outdoors and the region’s great arts and cultural institutions as often as possible.
