Julie Lautens is an Executive Coach and Consultant to leaders and their teams. She brings perspective from her varied experiences as a leader, corporate executive, and coach.
Julie has been associated with Corentus since 2017 when she trained in the firm’s renowned team coaching program. She is currently the Chief Client Development, Support, and Care Lead, and a Corentus faculty member covering various core topics. As a Corentus delivery lead for global clients, she can be engaged for individual and team coaching, team strategy and effectiveness workshops, leadership training, and needs analyses and assessments. She teases out what matters most and customizes solutions to match each situation.
Julie launched her career as an instructor at the University of Toronto, teaching introductory chemistry to scientists and non-scientists alike. From there, Julie led teams to develop and make medicines at GlaxoSmithKline; she started in R&D as a research scientist and then moved to manufacturing and global supply, first serving on the Canadian site and then on global executive teams. Ultimately, as Head of Technical Services and VP of Quality, she was responsible for cross-functional teams and strategic projects spanning four continents to support GSK’s global supply chain. She was well-known for building teams and coached directors and emerging leaders to take courageous steps and widen their impact. She provided executive leaders of factories and central functions insight into organization design and team effectiveness.
Julie holds a PhD in Chemistry from Harvard University and a BA from Carleton College. She is a Corentus-certified Team Coach and ICF coach at the PCC level, complemented by training in the Toyota Production System in Osaka, Japan. She serves as a volunteer coach internationally and locally. Julie lives in Toronto and is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States. She enjoys singing in her community choir, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
