Monica Burden
Corentus Team Coach, Talent Optimizer, & Digital Transformation Facilitator
Monica is an agent for change in how we connect to one another through better communication, deep relationships, and intentional leadership.
Monica is a team coach and digital transformation facilitator experienced in working with non-profits and small businesses to enable them to cope with the sped-up, interconnected world we live in today. She will complete Corentus certification this year and leadership coach certification (PCC) in 2024. She has provided team coaching, digital transformation workshops, and talent optimization training for international NGOs and US-based non-profit organizations.
Monica studied linguistics and embraced entrepreneurship before turning to team coaching. As a linguist, she found joy in being a semi-professional eavesdropper, observing people engaged in natural conversation and studying the ways their behaviors are encoded in language. As an entrepreneur, she worked with dozens of non-profits and small businesses to revamp both the human and technological aspects of work processes, resulting in greater impact and improved bottom lines.
Monica earned a PhD and MA in linguistics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, with an emphasis in Language, Interaction, and Social Organization and a BA in Russian from Reed College. She was a Fulbright Scholar to China in 2001-2002 (where she built her first website, before the term “blog” was popularized). She plans to complete her Corentus Team Coach certification in 2023 and her leadership coaching certification (PCC) in early 2024.
